Pee Dee Area College Fair planned for Oct. 14 at FMU
FLORENCE – High school students and their parents from across the state can meet one on one with admission representatives from more than 50 colleges and universities at Francis Marion University’s annual college fair on Oct. 14.
This free event will feature a morning program to be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon, and for those who can’t make it during the day, there will also be an evening program from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Both will be held in the Smith University Center. This is the eighth year FMU has hosted this event.
The event not only offers parents the opportunity to ask questions about courses, costs, and other items, but workshops on financial aid will also be made available. Scholarship information and many other resources are available on the site. Representatives from all branches of the military will also be present to answer questions.
The annual college fair is sponsored by the Carolinas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (CACRAO).
“CACRAO provides an excellent opportunity for students in the region to learn about colleges and universities from South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia. This gives our institution a chance to partner with other universities, high schools and companies who have an interest in providing good information about higher education opportunities,” said Perry Wilson, FMU director of admissions.
