FLORENCE – Gubernatorial candidates Democrat Vincent Sheheen and Republican Nikki Haley will face off just one week before Election Day in a live, televised debate on the Francis Marion University campus.
The debate, which will be broadcast live on WBTW News 13 and on SCNow.com, is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. in Chapman Auditorium. It is part of a series of political forums sponsored by FMU, Coastal Carolina University, WBTW-TV, the Morning News and scnow.com.
Anchor Bob Juback will moderate the debate which will feature a media panel as well as voter-submitted questions.
“FMU is proud to join with Coastal Carolina University, WBTW and the Morning News in hosting the debate,” said FMU President Luther F. Carter. “We have had a very successful set of primary debates that focused on the issues critical to our state and region, and this general election debate between the two gubernatorial candidates promises to be energetic, enlightening and for many voters, definitive.”
Tickets to the debate are free of charge and will be made available through FMU’s Office of Public and Community Affairs by calling (843) 661-1225 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a limit of two tickets per person.
The debates will be carried by C-SPAN.
