FMU Women’s Soccer Team earns national academic award

FLORENCE, S.C. – For the sixth time in the past seven years, the Francis Marion University women’s soccer team has earned a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award. These most recent awards are for the 2009-10 school year.

The Francis Marion squad, coached by Joel Person, compiled a cumulative 3.26 team grade point average for that academic year. 

In previous years, FMU ranked 17th among all Division I women’s programs in 2007-08, while the Patriots ranked third in Division I in 2006-07, 30th among all schools (tied for ninth in Division I) in 2005-06, 81st among all schools in 2004-05, and 58th among all schools in 2003-04.
