FLORENCE – S. Fulton Ervin, III, a native of Florence, received Francis Marion University’s Morgan B. Coker School of Business Outstanding Alumnus Award for 2011.
The award was presented during a breakfast on Feb. 25.
Ervin graduated from Presbyterian College in 1979 with a B.S. degree in business administration/accounting, and later received his M.B.A. from FMU in 1992.
Ervin has served McLeod Health as senior vice president of finance since February of 2010. He was promoted to chief financial officer in March of 2007. As the chief financial officer, Ervin is responsible for the areas of accounting and finance, business services, managed care, occupational medicine, payroll, workers compensation, procurement services, real estate, registration, reservations and scheduling, construction, grounds maintenance, engineering and telecommunications.
He joined the McLeod team in August of 1997 as controller. During his tenure, Ervin has assumed many additional financial and operational responsibilities including being named corporate controller in 2003, assuming all accounting functions for McLeod Health and many of its subsidiaries. In 2005, as associate vice president, Ervin also had the added responsibility for physician accounting, payroll and financial systems.
He has been married to wife Joan for 28 years. They have two sons.
