FLORENCE, S.C. – Francis Marion University will begin Homecoming 2011 festivities with a “Patriots on Fire” pep rally, Friday (Feb. 25) at 6 p.m. in commons area of the Smith University Center. The initial bonfire also set for Friday evening has been canceled due to the forecast of high winds and the resulting fire danger.
The event, which is open to the public free of charge, is sponsored by the FMU Student Government Association.
Students, alumni, and fans are encouraged to get ready for Saturday’s Homecoming doubleheader by celebrating with the Patriot men’s and women’s basketball teams. The 2011 Homecoming Court will be introduced as will the two newest inductees for the FMU Athletic Hall of Fame. The Patriot cheerleaders will perform.
