FLORENCE, SC – The third-seeded Francis Marion University women’s basketball team will travel to play 12th-ranked and second-seeded USC Aiken in a first-round Peach Belt Conference Tournament game, Wednesday evening (March 2) at 7 p.m.

Admission will be $6 for adults and $4 for students and seniors. Students from PBC schools will be admitted free with their school ID.
Francis Marion concluded its first regular season under head coach Kate Glusko with an 18-8 overall mark and an 11-7 conference record.
USCA (24-4) and Lander University finished the regular season tied atop the division standings with identical 16-2 league marks. With all tiebreakers being even, a coin flip was held on Saturday with Lander gaining the top seed.
The Pacers closed the regular season having won 19 of their last 21 games, including a current eight-game winning streak.
FMU dropped a pair of narrow decisions to the Pacers during the regular season: 66-64 on Dec. 1 in Aiken and 74-66 in overtime on Jan. 12 in Florence.
The winner of the FMU/USCA quarterfinal will advance to the PBC Tournament semifinals, also at USCA’s Convocation Center, where it will play the winner of the Clayton State University/University of Montevallo contest in the second semifinal on Saturday (March 5) at 3 p.m.
FMU senior Shannon Singleton-Bates is second in the conference in scoring and ninth nationally at 20.0 points per game. Sophomore guard Courtney Mealing is averaging 14.7 ppg, while senior point guard Robin Colbert adds 10.9 ppg and team-high averages of 7.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 3.4 steals per game.
Freshman 5-11 forward Kayla Harris leads the Pacers with a 12.2 ppg average, while 5-10 junior forward Hannah DeGraffinreed adds 11.4 ppg and 6.0 rpg.
Francis Marion leads the all-time series 45-21, including a win over USCA in the first-round of last year’s PBC Tournament. Francis Marion is 16-17 all-time in the PBC Tournament, including winning the 1998 tournament. The Patriots have reached the semifinals each of the past three years en route to NCAA National Tournament bids.
