FMU trustees to hold retreat and quarterly meeting Aug. 4-5
FLORENCE –The Francis Marion University Board of Trustees will hold its annual retreat Thursday, Aug. 4, and its quarterly meeting at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, in the Stokes Administration Building Board Room.
At the retreat, the trustees will hear a report from President Luther F. Carter on the 2010-2011 year and implications for the university and reports from staff on 2011-2012 campus initiatives.
At the board meeting, the trustees will consider a resolution for the approval of mutual aid agreements between the FMU Police Department and other law enforcement jurisdictions. They will also receive reports from their standing committees. FMU President Fred Carter will update the board concerning ongoing and upcoming university activities and events.
Committee meetings will be held earlier in the day Friday at The Cottage. The Executive Affairs Committee will meet at 9 a.m. in the Hendrick Room, followed by a 9:30 a.m. meeting of the Financial Affairs and Facilities Committee. The Academic Affairs and Accreditation Committee also will meet at 9:30 a.m. in Powell Library in The Cottage. At 10:30 a.m., the Development and Alumni Committee will meet in the Hendrick Room, while the Student Affairs and Athletics Committee meet in Powell Library.
