Patriots land Longwood transfer

FLORENCE, S.C. – Francis Marion University women’s basketball head coach Kate Glusko has announced the addition of sophomore guard Emilee Dunton, a transfer from Longwood University.

Dunton, appeared in 26 games last season for the Lancers, averaging 2.7 points and 1.0 assists per game.

 She is a graduate from Brookville High School in Lynchburg, Va. where she played under coach Warner Dyke. While at Brookville, Dunton started all four years and helped the Bees to a 95-14 record, including two appearances in the state tournament. She handed out 527 career assists, third-best in Virginia High School league history, and was an All-District selection three times, and an All-Region pick twice. Dunton is one of nine newcomers on the Patriots’ 2011-12 squad.

Francis Marion opens their season on November 18 against Lenoir-Rhyne University, in Mars Hill, N.C.
