New Gershwin musical launches Broadway series at FMU’s new Performing Arts Center
FLORENCE – “‘S Wonderful,” an all singing, dancing musical revue featuring over 42 songs by the beloved Gershwin brothers, will be performed at the Francis Marion University’s Performing Arts Center, Thursday, Oct. 13, at 7:30 p.m.
The show includes hits such as “I’ve Got Rhythm,” “Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off,” “Rhapsody in Blue,” “Our Love is Here To Stay,” and more.
The melodies flow through five mini-musicals inspired by the stories of young love beginning in 1920s New York City, moving to Paris in the 1930s, Hollywood in the 1940s, New Orleans in the 1950s and ending in the present day. “‘S Wonderful” takes you on a nostalgic ride that has been called a gem for Gershwin lovers young and old.
This show is the first of four in the “Broadway Series” that also features “In The Heights,” “The Color Purple” and Neil Berg’s “100 years of Broadway.”

Those series include, concerts, family oriented shows and a variety series as well as a wide range of acts in the smaller, and the more intimate Black Box Theatre.
