FLORENCE – Francis Marion University’s Gail and Terry Richardson Center for the Child (RCC) will partner with Barnes & Noble to host a family fun night and book fair on Friday, Oct. 21.
The community is encouraged to visit Barnes & Noble at the Magnolia Mall between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. to help raise money for the RCC. The event, which is free to the public, will feature celebrity book readings and other activities - all to help foster children's love for reading as a fun and recreational activity. FMU President Luther F. Carter is among those who will read to children.
To participate in the book fair, shoppers should inform the cashier that the purchase supports the book fair. With the funds raised, the Center can buy books and educational materials. Purchases can be made from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. everywhere in the store including the café on Oct. 21 and online.
For more information about the book fair, contact Meredith Love, chair of the RCC Family Advisory Committee at (843) 661-1522.
