Francis Marion soccer entertains Wolves

FLORENCE, SC – The Francis Marion University men’s soccer team will continue its five-match homestand when the Patriots entertain Newberry College on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 8)

The non-conference match will kick-off at 1 p.m. on the FMU Soccer Field. Admission is free.

FMU (1-9-0) is looking to snap a five-match losing skid while gearing up for a pair of Peach Belt Conference matches next week. Newberry owns a 5-5-0 mark, including a pair of wins over PBC-member schools.

Francis Marion leads the all-time series 10-1-0 and has outscored the Wolves 55-8.

Following Saturday’s match, Francis Marion will host USC Aiken on Oct. 12, the University of Montevallo on Oct. 15, and Limestone College on Oct. 19. Altogether seven of FMU’s final eight matches are at home.

The FMU women’s volleyball team (5-10) will play two road matches this weekend: at Augusta State University on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. and at Montevallo on Sunday at 2 p.m.

The Patriot golf team is in Philadelphia to compete in the Big 5 Tournament on Saturday and Sunday.

The Francis Marion women’s soccer team (3-8-1) will return to action this coming week as the Patriots battle a pair of Ivy League schools on the road.  FMU will play at Princeton University on Monday night and at Brown University on Wednesday afternoon.
