FLORENCE, S.C. – Francis Marion University senior libero Hallie Legg has been named the Peach Belt Conference Volleyball Specialist of the Week, for the week ending Oct. 15.
Legg, a native of North Canton, Ohio., averaged 7.29 digs per set as FMU split two non-conference matches last week.
She registered 15 digs and one service ace in a 3-0 win over Brevard College and followed that with a career-high 36 digs in a 3-1 loss to Anderson University. The 36 digs are the highest single-match total for a player in the PBC this season, and were only 10 shy of the FMU record.
Legg has recorded eight matches of 20+ digs this season and ranks third in the conference in digs per set at 4.41. Earlier this season she surpassed the 1,000-dig mark and currently has 1,074 to her credit.
Francis Marion (7-12, 2-5) will play host to 16th-ranked and unbeaten Armstrong Atlantic State University (22-0, 7-0) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Later in the week, the Patriots will entertain Flagler College on Friday at 7 p.m.
Legg has not missed a match (113) during her four years at FMU, and last year she was named to the PBC All-Academic Team as a graphic design major.
She is a product of Hoover High School.
