FLORENCE – Kathy Mattea, Grammy-winning singer of classics such as “18 Wheels and a Dozen Roses,” “Love at the Five and Dime,” and “455 Rocket,” is coming to Francis Marion University’s Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11.
Mattea will be performing her latest hits from her album "Coal," which chronicles the lives of mining families, as well as favorites from her past. She said the album is rare in that it serves as a “re-education” for her as well as the listener. Other performances in the Concert Series include Celtic Crossroads, the synergy Brass Quintet and Simply Sinatra with Steve Lippia.
In addition to the “Concert Series” there are four others during the PAC’s season that runs until May of 2012. Those series include, Broadway plays, dance shows, family oriented shows and a variety series as well as a wide range of acts in the smaller, more intimate Black Box Theatre. Information on the complete season is available at www.fmupac.org.
Prices for the Mattea concert begin at $25 and may be purchased at www.fmupac.org, via telephone at (843) 661-4444, and at the FMU Performing Arts Center Box Office. Telephone and personal ticket sales are available Monday through Friday between 12-5 p.m. Subject to availability, tickets may be available for purchase at the door.
The PAC is located in downtown Florence at the intersection of Dargan and Evans Streets.
