Patriot cagers at North Georgia on Monday

FLORENCE, SC – After a rare mid-season weekend off, the Francis Marion University men's and women's basketball teams will return to action on Monday night (Jan. 16) with a road doubleheader at North Georgia College & State University.

The women's game will tip-off at 5:30 p.m. in the Saints' Memorial Hall gymnasium, followed by the men's contest at 7:30 p.m. Fans can follow live stats or live video through the Patriots' athletic website at

The Francis Marion women, 6-7 overall and 2-5 in the PBC, will be looking for their fifth straight road win. North Georgia (8-5, 2-2) defeated future Peach Belt member Young Harris College on Saturday. North Georgia forward Jaymee Carnes leads the nation in scoring at 27.2 ppg.

The FMU men have won two straight conference games to improve to 8-6 overall and 4-3 in the Peach Belt, while North Georgia is 7-8 and 2-2. The Saints lost to Young Harris on Saturday.

FMU leads the all-time women's series 7-6, while the Patriot men trail in their series with the Saints 7-5.
