FLORENCE – Dr. Katherine Jackson received Francis Marion University’s Morgan B. Coker School of Business Outstanding Alumnus Award for 2012.
The award was presented during a breakfast this morning.
Jackson is the associate dean of the School of Business at Truman State University. Prior to her arrival in Kirksville, she was associate dean at the School of Management at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Before moving to New York, Jackson was the assistant dean at the School of Business at Indiana University (South Bend) where she had also served as director of Graduate Business Programs. Prior to her taking on administrative roles, she proudly served for nearly 15 years as a full-time faculty member at Indiana University (South Bend). Jackson received her bachelor’s in business administration from Francis Marion University and her Ph.D. in finance from the University of South Carolina.
Jackson is the author of numerous articles as well as a finance textbook that incorporates collaborative learning techniques. She has given numerous presentations about how to use collaborative learning in business education. She has also given workshops on financial analysis to non-financial executives at several major mid-west corporations. She was previously a member of the board of directors of the Economics Club of Michiana and the Financial Executives’ Institute. Her research interests include index investing and exchange traded funds. Jackson is a member of the Midwest Finance Association the Eastern Finance Association.
