FLORENCE, SC – Three Francis Marion University spring sports teams will be in action at home on Saturday (Feb. 25), while the 12th-ranked Patriot baseball team will be on the road.
The 9-5 Francis Marion softball team will open its Peach Belt Conference schedule on Saturday when the Patriots host USC Aiken (6-0, 0-0) for a 1 p.m. doubleheader on the FMU Softball Field.
FMU’s two probable starters for the twinbill are senior right-hander Kayla Ellingsen (5-2, 2.16 ERA) and sophomore righty Taylor Luff (0-2, 2.39).
The FMU men’s and women’s tennis teams will play host to long-time PBC rival Lander University on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. on the Kassab Courts.
The 14th-ranked Patriot men are 2-0, while 11th-ranked Lander is 6-0. The FMU women are 3-0 and the Bearcat women are 3-2.
Admission to these home events is free.
The FMU baseball team (8-4, 2-1) will travel to Alabama to play a three-game PBC series this weekend at the University of Montevallo (4-8, 1-2). The two teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday at 2 p.m. (Eastern Time) and a single contest on Sunday at 2 p.m. (ET).
