Weather forces changes to FMU spring sports schedules

FLORENCE, SC – Predicted precipitation across the Southeast this weekend has forced several changes in the Francis Marion University spring sports schedule.

The Peach Belt Conference softball doubleheader between FMU (24-10) and 16th-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State University (29-8) set for Saturday afternoon in Florence has been postponed. The twinbill has been rescheduled for April 17 at 3 p.m.

The softball doubleheader set for Sunday at FMU between the Patriots and Flagler College has been moved up one hour from noon to 11 a.m. The Francis Marion squad will be holding Breast Cancer Awareness Day. Donations will be accepted and pink wristbands will be available for purchase. Fans are encouraged to wear pink.

The PBC baseball series between the 23rd-ranked Patriots (19-10) and 20th-ranked Armstrong (19-6) set for Saturday and Sunday in Savannah has also been altered. The two squads will now a doubleheader on Sunday at noon and a single game on Monday at 2 p.m.
