FLORENCE, SC – Francis Marion University baseball will be in action at home this weekend for a crucial three-game Peach Belt Conference series with the Georgia College Bobcats.
The 22nd-ranked Patriots (17-9, 7-5) will play host to the Bobcats (14-9, 6-3) starting with a twinbill on Saturday (March 17) at 1 p.m. The three-game set will conclude on Sunday (March 18) with a single game at 1 p.m. on FMU’s Cormell Field.
General admission each day is $8 for adults and $5 for students (FMU students are admitted free with ID).
Georgia College leads the all-time series 38-25, but this will be the first regular-season series meeting since 2009. FMU beat the Bobcats in last year’s PBC Tournament, and in 2010 Georgia College downed FMU in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Tournament title game.
The Patriots currently sit in a tie for third place with USC Aiken in the East Division of the PBC. Georgia College comes in locked up in a tie for second place in the West Division with Columbus State University.

Francis Marion has won five games in a row, and seven of its last eight. Georgia College owns a five-game winning streak.
FMU leads Division II in total hits and is ranked fourth in fewest walks issued per nine innings (2.1), seventh in sacrifice bunts (25), and 13th in runs scored. Broderick is ranked third nationally in fewest walks per nine innings (0.51), while Stoner and Jordan are tied for eighth in total strikeouts (42).
