Breanna Robertson crowned Ms. FMU
Breanna Robertson of Columbia was crowned Ms. FMU during the annual contest held at Francis Marion University, March 13.
Robertson is a sophomore and is majoring in pre-nursing. She is a member of the Student Government Association, president of the campus NAACP, secretary of the S.C. Student Legislature, vice-president of the Honor Student Association, an FMU Diplomat and student advisor for the Resident Student Association.
As Ms. FMU, Robertson will represent the university at a variety of events, including Open House, Freshman Orientation and outreach events in local high schools. She was also awarded Miss Congeniality.
The Ms. FMU event began in 1971 and is held each year. To be involved in next year’s contest, obtain an application next spring in the Office of Student Affairs located in the Smith University Center, suite 205 or contact Cheri Richardson, event coordinator and associate dean of students, at (843) 661-1229.
Khira McKenney, a junior from Columbia who is majoring in early childhood education, was first runner-up. She is an FMU Diplomat, a member of the Young, Gifted, and Blessed Gospel Choir, The Riot and the University Programming Board.
Kasey Elizabeth James, a sophomore from Aynor who is majoring in mass communication with an emphasis on public relations, was second runner-up. She is president of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and a member of the Lions Club and Ducks Unlimited.
