FLORENCE---Total enrollment for the 1999 fall semester at Francis Marion University is 3,814. This is a 3.4 percent decline from fall 1998’s total of 3,947, the third highest in FMU’s 30-year history.
Graduate enrollment is at an all-time high of 891 students taking advanced classes this fall. Undergraduate enrollment totals 2,923 students.
Ninety-two percent of FMU students (3,521) are South Carolina residents, while 293 are from out-of-state. There are 2,570 students enrolled full-time, while 1,244 are part-time.
The breakdown on students by classifications are: freshmen, 724; sophomores, 835; juniors, 566; seniors, 608; special students, 190; and graduate level, 891.
There are an additional 83 students enrolled in the Medical University of South Carolina’s nursing program offered on the FMU campus. That’s an all-time high for the nursing program.
