FLORENCE – Francis Marion University Artist Series presents Much Ado About Nothing, performed by Shenandoah Shakespeare Express (SSE), at 8 p.m. in the McNair Science Building auditorium, Wednesday, Nov. 10. The performance is free and open to the public.
SSE’s performances are known for their clarity, briskness, and contemporary approach to William Shakespeare’s work. The group, from the Shenandoah Valley region of Virginia, is celebrating its tenth anniversary as an acting troupe.
The stage group uses the most basic principles of Renaissance staging, such as actors and audience sharing the same light, actors interacting with the audience, actors playing double roles and using simplicity in set design.
