FMU Professors planning Spring European Theatre Trip
FLORENCE – Two Francis Marion University English professors are planning to offer an overseas study experience in comparative drama, beginning in London and Stratford, and travelling on to Athens and Epidaurus in the spring.

This combined England/Greece experience is being planned to occur during Maymester 2000, May16-June 5.  The cost is approximately $2,600 per person.  Solid figures are forthcoming from the tour agency, Peter Whelan and Linda Jacobs, associate professors of English at the university, say.

The price will include backstage tours and educational workshops, as well as seven or eight theatrical performances.  The tour will depart shortly after FMU’s spring graduation, May 6, during the second or third week of May, and will last 14 days.

The professors expect to pass along exact dates, prices, and details by the end of September.  Anyone interested in joining the group, needs to sign up for the trip as a course, English 319: Literature and Culture Abroad.

For more information about the trip, call Whelan at 843-661-1493 or Jacobs at 843-661-1498.
