Prospective students, alumni meet FMU Patriots on Tour

FLORENCE - Francis Marion University is hosting a reception on Thursday, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. to introduce prospective Darlington county FMU students and their families to faculty, administration, and county alumni.

Darlington County FMU alumni, prospective students and their families will join the “Patriots on Tour” at the reception in the Darlington Raceway Media Center, 1301 Harry Byrd Hwy, sponsored by The Messenger, Hartsville Community Bank, Hyman Paper & Chemical Co., and the Darlington Raceway.

The reception is one of several “Patriots on Tour” receptions occurring in September.  University representatives, along with current FMU students, will be available to give information and to answer questions about the FMU college experience.

"This is a great opportunity for alumni to get re-acquainted with FMU, learn what's new at the university, and meet members of the faculty and administration, " said Kelly Sellers, director of alumni affairs.

Students, who have an interest in attending FMU or learning more about the university, and their parents, are invited to attend, said Drucilla Shelton, director of admissions at FMU.  The receptions will provide an informal setting for alumni, prospective students, their families, and the FMU officials to get to know one another.

For more information about the “Patriots on Tour,” contact Sellers at 843-661-1228 or Shelton at 843-661-1231 or 1-800-368-7551.
