FLORENCE - Francis Marion University is hosting a reception for alumni and prospective FMU students and their families who live in the state’s midlands, Tuesday, Sept. 28 in the Proprietor’s Hall/Wachovia Room of the South Carolina Archives & History Center.
The center is located at 8301 Parklane Road in Columbia and the reception begins at 6 p.m.
The reception is one of several being held around the state during September to introduce prospective FMU students and their families to faculty, administration, and area alumni. Dubbed “Patriots on Tour,” university representatives, including current FMU students, will be available to give information and to answer questions about the FMU college experience.
"This is a great opportunity for alumni to get re-acquainted with FMU, learn what's new at the university, and meet members of the faculty and administration, " said Kelly Sellers, director of alumni affairs.
Students, who have an interest in attending FMU or learning more about the university, and their parents, are invited to attend, said Drucilla Shelton, director of admissions at FMU. The receptions will provide an informal setting for alumni, prospective students, their families, and the FMU officials to get to know one another.
