FLORENCE, S.C. – Because the Francis Marion University planetarium will be closed during the months of September and October, the public shows scheduled for Sept. 12, Sept. 26, Oct. 10, and Oct. 24 have been canceled.
FMU officials will announce plans for the annual “Christmas Star” program, scheduled for the last two months of the year, as November approaches.
Since its opening in 1978, the planetarium has served more than 100,000 visitors. Located on the second floor of the Cauthen Educational Media Center, the planetarium offers semimonthly free public shows, featuring six different programs a year.
