FLORENCE – Francis Marion University recorded an overall increase in students taking classes this summer, despite a decline in second term headcount enrollment. Enrollment for the second session of summer school was down 21 percent from a year ago.
A total of 906 students registered for classes for the second summer term, down 246 students from the 1,152 registered in 1998. There were 560 undergraduate students and 346 graduate students in the total.
For the entire summer period, FMU registered 2,872 students, a 5.8 percent increase from 1998.
