The renowned Apollo Theatre of Harlem, N. Y., is holding a kids  talent search show tonight in FMU's McNair Auditorium.  Sponsored in conjunction with McDonald's Corp., the talent show is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. and is open to the public free of charge.

This amateur talent show is conducted annually to search for children from 5-12 years old who can't get to New York.  The winner of the show here will advance to the finals in Columbia, and the winner of that show goes to New York City to appear on the nationally  televised broadcast of "Showtime at the Apollo."  Many of the great African-American entertainers got their start through performing at the famed Apollo Theatre.
