Francis Marion University’s new Student Government Association officers will begin serving their terms in August. They were elected in April.
Ruben Freeman of Trenton, S.C., a junior mass communication major, was elected president of the SGA. He has served within the FMU SGA for three years, including one year as secretary.
“The primary goal I plan to accomplish during my year as SGA president is to develop a successful and elaborate communication system between students, SGA, administrators, and faculty members of FMU,” said Freeman. “I feel that once I have established good communication, the rest will follow with time and dedication.”
Donovan Bailey, a sophomore from Columbia, was elected vice president of the organization. Bailey has previously served two years on the SGA.
Donna LaBorde of Yonkers, N.Y., a junior political science major, was elected treasurer of the organization. LaBorde has also previously served two years on the SGA.
