FLORENCE----Tricia Kay Turner of Erwin, Tenn., has been named coordinator of student life at Francis Marion University, effective July 1.
As part of the university’s student development staff, she will be responsible for coordinating student programming, advising the University Programming Board, coordinating Greek Life, advising the Inter-Fraternity Council and the Panhellenic Council, and coordinating special Student Life projects, such as Homecoming activities and the Ms. FMU pageant.
A graduate of Unicoi County High in Erwin, Tenn., Turner earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing and social work from East Tennessee State University in 1996 and a master’s degree in college student development at Appalachian State University in 1999.
At ASU, she was a graduate assistant for student programs. She served an internship in the office of student development and admissions at Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Va. She also gained experience in student orientation, student activities, academic advising and admissions at East Tennessee State University.
She is a member of the American College Personnel Association, the Student Development Association, Sigma Kappa Sorority and Psi Chi National Psychology Honor Society.
Francis Marion University, one of South Carolina’s 12 state-supported institutions, has an enrollment of about 4,000.
