FLORENCE -- The South Carolina Lambda Chapter of Pi Gamma Mu held its Spring Induction Ceremony on April 15, 1999 at Darlington Country Club.
Pi Gamma Mu is an international social science honor society. Members in Pi Gamma Mu are juniors, seniors, and graduate students in the upper 35% of their class who have a grade point average of "B" or better, and who have completed at least 20 hours in the social sciences.
Social sciences are defined as economics, geography, history, political science, psychology, and sociology. The president of South Carolina Lambda chapter, is Sandy Schultz, a FMU senior majoring in psychology.
The following students were inducted into the society: Amelia Floy Beane, marketing major, and David Patterson Moody, general business major, both of Bennettsville; Ronald Gerard Brand of Marion, political science major; Linda Brown, sociology major; Jennifer Graham Brantley, English major; Otis H. Hutchinson, psychology major; all of Lake City; Sammie Jean Garris of Chesterfield, elementary education major; Kathy Jean Godbolt of Latta, psychology major; Annette D. Grant of McColl, computer information systems management major; Jon David Lovell of Gresham, biology major; and Chaneka S. Linton of Hartsville, sociology major.
