16 FMU Students Named to Who's Who

FLORENCE – Sixteen Francis Marion University students have been named to the 1999 edition of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. 

The following FMU students have been recognized as national outstanding students:   Eric Mason Belk of Damon Drive, Florence, S.C., a senior business administration major; Buffy Michelle Boatwright of Cherrywood Road, Florence, S.C., a senior English/teacher certification major; Jackson Lee Bryant of Elloree, S.C., a senior English major; Justin Wayne Cathey of Fork, S.C., a senior computer information systems management major; Analiese Danielle Grace of Kingsport, Tenn., a senior elementary education major; Shuana Denise Heyward of Dillon, S.C., a junior chemistry major; Chaneka Shantice Linton of Hartsville, S.C., a senior sociology major; and Charlene Elaine McDonnough of Florence, S.C., a senior elementary education major.

Also, Charles Luther Miller of Darlington, S.C., B.A., elementary education; Carrie Jo Nice of Walterboro, S.C., a junior theatre arts major; Natasha Venetta M. Pauling of Winnsboror, S.C., a senior English major; Ryan Devindra Pooran of Florence, S.C., a junior physics major; Lakisha Saxon of Nichols, S.C., a senior elementary education major; Sandra Lee Schultz of Darlington, S.C., a senior psychology major; Shaniese K. Snype of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., a senor political science major; and William Richard Turner of Florence, S.C., a junior mass communication major.

Campus nominating committees and editors of the annual directory have included the names of these students based on their academic achievement, community service, leadership in extracurricular activities, and potential for continued success.

Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.
