FLORENCE – Carrie Nice of Florence and an English major at Francis Marion University, has won a 1999 Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society Junior Scholarship runner-up award of $500.

Sigma Tau Delta offers the $2,000 Junior Scholarships and their $500 runners-up awards in honor of E. Nelson James, long-time executive secretary.  Applications must show academic scholarship and chapter service. 

Nice became a member of the Nu Rho chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society, in 1998.
