FLORENCE----Howard G. Lundy Jr. has been named internal auditor and assistant to the president for special projects at Francis Marion University.
Lundy, who began his job Feb. 15, has more than 20 years experience in financial management as an auditor and controller in governmental and educational settings.
He comes to FMU from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston where he served as controller and assistant treasurer since 1982. He was auditor with the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General in Columbia from 1978 to 1982. He also was an auditor for the South Carolina Department of Social Services from 1976 to 1978.
A native of Marion, Lundy is a graduate of FMU, earning a bachelor’s degree cum laude in business administration in 1975. He earned a master of accountancy in 1976 from the University of South Carolina.
Lundy was a member of the FMU Board of Trustees from 1988 to 1998, including a stint as chairman of the Finance and Administration Committee.
