FMU Students Selected for Honor Band; To Perform Friday

FLORENCE – Four Francis Marion University students have been selected to participate in the South Carolina Collegiate Honor Band. 

The band will perform Friday, Feb. 12, at 8 p.m. in the Twichell Auditorium, on the Converse College campus in Spartanburg.

Richard Flowers of Pamplico, biology major, will play the tenor saxophone.  Tenisha Fulmer of Marion, elementary education major, will play the flute.  Emily James of Rock Hill, art education major, will play trumpet and and Julia Stanton of Florence will play the horn.

Commander Norbert Nozy, conductor of the Symphonic Band of the Belgian Guide, Brussels, Belgium, will be guest conductor for the performance.

In addition to the FMU students, other collegiate musicians are from Bob Jones University, Charleston Southern University, Clemson University, Converse College, Furman University, Limestone College, University of South Carolina, Winthrop University.

Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for students.  For more information about the concert, call 864-596-9725.
