FMU-Coker Basketball Game on Local Radio

FLORENCE, S.C. --- DBS Communications of Florence has contracted to broadcast the men’s basketball season opener between Francis Marion University and Coker College on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 18).

The game will be carried over radio stations WOLS-AM (1230) in Florence and WHYM-AM (1260) in Lake City.  The pre-game show begins at 3:30 p.m. before the 4 p.m. tip off between the Patriots and Coker in Smith University Center Gym on the FMU campus.

Larry D. Smith, vice president of DBS Communications, said broadcasting the FMU-Coker game is “an effort to bring local sports to the community in a way that hasn’t been done in many years.”  He said he hoped to broadcast more FMU games later in the season.

Announcers for the contest will be Mike Jenkins and Fred Brown.
