FLORENCE – Francis Marion University is hosting three receptions around the state in September for prospective FMU students and area alumni.
At the second annual “Patriots on Tour” reception series, university representatives from the admissions, athletics and financial assistance offices, as well as faculty, administration, alumni and current FMU students, will be available to give information and answer questions about the FMU college experience.
“This is a great opportunity for alumni to get re-acquainted with FMU, learn what’s new at the university, and meet members of the faculty and administration,” said Kelly Sellers, director of alumni affairs.
Students who are interested in attending FMU or learning more about the university are also invited to attend, said Drucilla Shelton, interim director of enrollment management at FMU. The receptions will provide an informal setting for alumni, prospective students, their families, and FMU officials to get to know one another. Admission for prospective students and their families is free.
“Patriots on Tour” begins Thursday, Sept. 7, in Columbia. The event will be held at the Top of Finlay in Finlay Park at 930 Laurel St. from 6 to 8 p.m.
On Thursday, Sept. 14, from 7 to 9 p.m., the tour will stop in Charleston. The reception will take place in the Trident HealthFinders Classroom at The Citadel Mall, located at 2070 Sam Rittenberg Blvd.
Greenville will be the site of the final reception from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 21. The event will be held in the Woodside Conference Center Room 100AB at the Palmetto Expo Center on Exposition Avenue.
