FLORENCE, S.C. – Francis Marion University has announced academic scholarship recipients for the 2000-2001 school year.

 Francis Marion Scholars receive awards covering general university fees. These scholarships are awarded to outstanding freshmen based on total school record and potential, including participation in extracurricular activities. If funds are available, a recipient may renew this scholarship for up to three more years by maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

 Francis Marion Academic Excellence Scholars receive awards in varying amounts. Academically promising freshmen are offered these scholarships, which may also be renewed for up to three more years if the recipient maintains a cumulative 3.0 GPA.
