FLORENCE---The Board of Trustees of Francis Marion University will hold its summer meeting Thursday and Friday, July 20-21, on campus.
During Thursday’s session, scheduled in Ervin Dining Hall from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the trustees will hear reports on activities of the past year, administrative structuring of the university, issues related to performance funding, planning for the capital campaign and revisions in the faculty constitution.
Beginning at 8:30 a.m. Friday morning, the trustees will get updates on enrollment and recruitment activities and legislative initiatives.
A business meeting is scheduled at 10 a.m. in which the board will elect officers for the next year and act on several resolutions, including approval of a $34.4 million operating budget for the 2000-2001 fiscal year and naming the university’s planetarium in honor of long-time faculty member, the late James (Ed) Dooley.
