U.S. Foodservice establishes $1,500 scholarship at FMU
FLORENCE – U.S. Foodservice has established a $1,500 annual scholarship at Francis Marion University.
The U.S. Foodservice Scholarship will be awarded to a junior or senior student who has worked for FMU Dining Services in the previous two semesters and who has a grade point average of 2.5 or higher. If multiple applicants apply, recommendations will be made by Dining Services management.
The scholarship will be funded annually, as long as U.S. Foodservice retains its food service contract with Francis Marion.
U.S. Foodservice has had a contract with FMU for the past two years. The contract is renewable yearly.
U.S. Foodservice is one of the largest food-service distributors in the United States, with annual sales approaching $8 billion. U.S. Foodservice markets and distributes more than 43,000 national, private label and signature brand items across the continental United States to more than 143,000 customers, including restaurants, hotels, health-care facilities, cafeterias and schools. The company employs more than 13,250 food-service professionals.
