FLORENCE – There’s still time for incoming Francis Marion University students to sign up for one of three summer “First Class” orientation sessions.
Each new FMU student is required to attend one of the sessions, scheduled for June 26-27, July 11-12, and July 21-22. The first day of each session is optional. Students must have been admitted to the university to participate, and must sign up at least three weeks prior to the preferred session.
“First Class” orientation is a fun event that gives incoming students the chance to familiarize themselves with the university. At orientation, new FMU students will have the opportunity to register for classes, work with an academic adviser, have an FMU ID card made, meet current and incoming students, receive information on a variety of student services, and tour the campus.
Costs are $40 for student registration, $10 for each guest, and $12 for each student or guest who wishes to stay overnight in a residence hall.
Included in the registration fee are a catalog, a student handbook, additional orientation materials, and meals during orientation.
For more information or to register for an orientation session, contact FMU’s Office of Academic Advising and Retention at 843-661-1279.
