FMU Trustees To Meet Jan. 20-21

FLORENCE---The Board of Trustees of Francis Marion University will hold its quarterly meeting Jan. 20-21 on the campus.

The full board meeting is scheduled Friday (Jan. 21) at 10 a.m. in the Stokes Building Board Room.

Committee meetings are scheduled on Thursday (Jan. 20) as follows:  at 10 a.m., Future Studies Committee in Stokes Board Room;  at 11:15 a.m., Academic Affairs and Shared Governance Committee in Stokes Board Room, Student Affairs and Advancement Committee in Palmetto Room of Ervin Dining Hall; and University Development Committee in Room 101 Stokes Building;  at 2:15 p.m., Alumni Development Committee in Room 101 Stokes Building, Financial Affairs and Responsibility Committee in Stokes Board Room; and Rules and Policy Committee in Provost Conference Room in Stokes Building; and at 3:45 p.m., round table discussion with President Fred Carter, Stokes Board Room.

The Executive Committee will meet at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 21 in Provost Conference Room, prior to the full board meeting.

The trustees will consider two resolutions—one renaming the faculty/staff dining room in Ervin Dining Hall for Professor Lynn D. “Skip” Hendrick who died in October 1998 and one phasing out the scholarship portion of the student activity fee over the next five years.  The first would honor a founding faculty member who over a 28-year period built one of the nation’s top health physics programs. The second would reduce the fee by $37.50 by the 2003-2004 year, leaving a student activity fee of $22.50.
