Hudak Named FMU News Editor

FLORENCE---Todd Hudak of Florence has been named news editor in the university relations office at Francis Marion University.

 Hudak will be responsible for FMU’s news service, working with the mass media, producing an employee newsletter, and posting news and information on the university’s website.  He replaces Dianne Owens who resigned to enter private business.

 Formerly city editor of the Sumter Item, Hudak has more than six years experience as a journalist in radio and newspapers in the Pee Dee region.  He also served as weekend editor and copy editor of the Sumter Item and was managing editor of the Lee County Observer.  He has also worked as a reporter for the News and Press in Darlington and the Kingstree News.  He has worked as an on-air personality at WEGX-FM in Dillon and WPDT-FM in Florence.

 He is a 1993 graduate of the University of South Carolina College of Journalism and Mass Communications.  His work has garnered awards from the S.C. Press Association.

He is the son of Joseph and Jane Hudak, 1324 Parkwood Drive, Florence.
