FLORENCE – Francis Marion University will celebrate Homecoming 2000 Friday and Saturday April 7 and 8 with various activities on the Florence campus.   Several of the university’s homecoming celebrations had to be rescheduled due to inclement weather from an earlier date in January.  A list of events celebrating the school’s 30th year of offering higher education in the Pee Dee area of the state follows.

Friday, April 7:  7 p.m., Pi Kappa Alpha Alumni Barbecue, Ervin Dining Hall, $10/person.

Saturday, April 8: 

9 a.m., School of Business Alumni Breakfast, Ervin Dining Hall, Palmetto Room

10 a.m., Introduction to the Virtual Library, Rogers Library, Room 201

11 a.m., Mathematics Alumni Reunion, Leatherman Science Facility, Room 406

11 a.m., Biology Alumni Reunion, Leatherman Science Facility, Room 207

11 a.m., Political Science Alumni Reunion, Ervin Dining Hall, President’s Dining Room

Noon, Department of Education Lunch, Ervin Dining Hall, Hendrick Dining Room, $5/person.

Noon -2 p.m., Homecoming Cookout for Students & Alumni, UC Patio/Lawn

Noon - 5 p.m., Patriot Bookstore Open, 20% discount on selected items.

1 p.m., Patriot Baseball vs. Lander, doubleheader

2 p.m., Patriot Softball vs. Augusta State, doubleheader

2 p.m., Patriot Women’s and Men’s Tennis vs. S.C. State University

6 p.m. Silent Auction begins, 6:45 Live Auction

7 p.m., 30th Anniversary Alumni Celebration, University Center Commons, Recognition of FMU’s 2000 Distinguish Alumni
