FLORENCE - Francis Marion University has published "A Guide to FMU Artists, Speakers, Experts," an alphabetical list of 93 FMU faculty, staff, and administrators and their areas of expertise and interest.
From accounting and airplanes to world geography and writing, there are 178 possible broad areas of topics, with numerous sub topics in the Guide. The artists, speakers and experts listed in the handbook have agreed to share their time and experience in person or over the telephone and are willing to meet with representatives of the media and to serve as speakers at civic, church and social organizations.
The Guide can help you locate the right FMU administrator, faculty or staff member who can comment authoritatively on the topic of your interest or need, and has been published as a service of the university to promote educational, vocational, and cultural exchange throughout the Pee Dee area.
When making a request for a Francis Marion University artist, speaker or expert, remember to get in touch with the individual as far in advance as possible.
Give speakers at least two weeks notice for speaking engagements and have the following information ready for them: the name of your organization, the type of program or subject matter of interest, the name and telephone number of the point of contact, the date, time and location of the engagement, and the type of any renumeration or reimbursement of travel expenses.
