FLORENCE -- Thanks to the generosity of Lake City Ford Mercury, the president of Francis Marion University has a new Ford Expedition for his official use.

Allan Rhodes, general manager of Lake City Ford Mercury, delivered the new vehicle to campus in mid-February. Joining him for the presentation of the keys to Dr. Fred Carter were Dr. Bill Edwards and Hood Temple, co-owners of the dealership.

With such a gift, the dealership covers the lease of the vehicle to the FMU Foundation for use in official university business.

“The vehicle will allow me and other university officials to transport people and equipment to events in promoting the university,” Carter said when receiving the vehicle.  "This type of corporate support is greatly appreciated.”
