FLORENCE – Francis Marion University employees gave more than $12,000 to the 1999 United Way Campaign, said Libby Cooper, vice president for advancement and campus campaign coordinator.
“We thank each person who participated in this year’s United Way Campaign,” she said. One hundred fifteen employees gave or pledged $12,159. “This is a tremendous increase over the past five years. The campaign focused on increasing the number of participants.” Four departments or offices on campus had 100 percent participation. They were the education department, the provost’s office, the mail room, and the advancement office.”
Donations to the United Way campaign exceeded FMU gift levels given during the last five years. The last time FMU exceeded the $10,000 level was in 1995.
