FMU honors students travel to Washington, D.C.

FLORENCE, S.C. – Students in Francis Marion University’s Honors Program traveled to Washington, D.C., Nov. 16-19, for an educational trip.

 Six faculty members and 36 students visited the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the Washington Monument, the Holocaust Memorial Museum, the Capitol, the White House and Arlington National Cemetery.

 Two FMU honors students, Mike Berry of Columbia and Amanda Eckert of Honolulu, Hawaii, were selected for Washington internships through the University of South Carolina Honors College internship program. Berry interned in Rep. John Spratt’s office and Eckert will intern during the spring 2001 semester.
