FLORENCE – Francis Marion University’s Office of Career Development will host its Fall 2000 Career Fair on Thursday, Nov. 2, from 1-4 p.m. in the Smith University Center gymnasium.
More than 50 local, state, and regional businesses, industries, and graduate-school representatives will participate by setting up information booths at the fair. In addition, this year’s fair will offer resume critiques and informational workshops on interviewing, internship and co-op opportunities, career exploration, and workplace readiness and survival skills.
Representatives of Sonoco, Pee Dee Electric Cooperative, Enterprise Rental Car, Florence County Social Security Administration, S&W Manufacturing and FMU’s staff will conduct the workshops. Members of the FMU Alumni Association will assist with the resume critiques.
Students from Florence-Darlington Technical College, Coker College and the public, along with FMU undergraduates, graduate students, recent graduates and alumni are invited to take part in this event. This is an opportunity to build employment contacts through networking and to gather career information, as well as enhance job-preparation skills and job-search strategies. Door prizes will also be given.
