FLORENCE – The Carolinas Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary will contribute $2,400 annually to establish two $1,200 scholarships with the Francis Marion University Foundation.
Recipients must be full-time FMU students and must be a sophomore, junior or senior. Recipients must also have a minimum 3.0 grade-point average, be pursuing a health-related major, and be a resident of Florence or surrounding counties. The award is renewable if the recipient continues to meet eligibility requirements.
Recommendations will be accepted from the Carolinas Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary.
“The University and the Foundation are grateful for the assistance the Carolinas Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary has provided for students in health-care professions,” said Robert N. Sawyer, executive director of the FMU Foundation. “Francis Marion University has a splendid record of educating students who are preparing to become medical doctors, dentists, nurses and other health-related professionals. These scholarships from the Carolinas Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary will help deserving students.”
