FMU launches "Swamp Fox Web for Students"

FLORENCE – On Oct. 25, Francis Marion University will unveil “Swamp Fox Web for Students,” a tool that will provide FMU students with easy online access to many academic services.

FMU students will be able to pre-register for courses and view their grades online. Both students and the public will be able to view course schedules online.

“We are really excited about being able to provide these services to our students,” said Drucilla Shelton, FMU’s interim director of enrollment management. “By enabling students to register for classes online, academic advisers will be able to spend more time advising students and less time on the registration process itself,” she said. Students must see their adviser before they can pre-register on the Swamp Fox Web.

Beginning with the current semester, grades will no longer be mailed, but will be available online. Students will have a password to access their grades. Students who wish to have grades mailed must make arrangements through the Registrar’s Office.

Plans are already in the works to add features to the site. “This is just the beginning of the services that will be available on the Swamp fox Web for Students,” Shelton said.
